サー・ジョン・ウィーラー＝ベネット（Sir John Wheeler Wheeler-Bennett GCVO CMG OBE FBA FRSL, 1902年10月13日 - 1975年12月9日）は、イギリスの歴史学者。ドイツ現代史専攻。

経歴 編集

ケント州生まれ。ニール・マルコム（Neil Malcolm）将軍の側近や国際連盟宣伝部職員を経て、1924年から王立国際問題研究所の情報部長としてBulletin of International Newsの編集に携わった。また1927年から1934年までベルリンに滞在し、ヴァイマル共和政の崩壊とアドルフ・ヒトラーの登場を目の当たりにした。またこの時期にパウル・フォン・ヒンデンブルクの評伝やブレスト＝リトフスク条約に関する著作を刊行し、歴史家としての地位を確立した。

第二次大戦中は、イギリス情報省（Ministry of Information）およびイギリス外務省に勤務した。戦後、1946年から1950年まで在野の歴史家でありながらオックスフォード大学で教えた。その後、公文書館の歴史顧問として公文書編纂に携わった。1972年、イギリス学士院会員に選ばれた。
