スティーヴン・アンブローズ

スティーヴン・エドワード・アンブローズ（Stephen Edward Ambrose, 1936年1月10日 - 2002年10月13日）は、アメリカの歴史家およびドワイト・D・アイゼンハワーの伝記作者。彼は1960年から1995年の半ばに引退するまでニューオリンズ大学で歴史学を教えた。

アンブローズは『Dデイ』D-Day 、『市民兵』Citizen Soldiers および『勝利者』The Victors などの第二次世界大戦に関する多くのベストセラー作家だった。彼はアイゼンハワー・センターおよびルイジアナ州ニューオーリンズの国立Dデイ博物館の創立者だった。また、映画『プライベート・ライアン』Saving Private Ryan での軍事アドバイザー、彼の作品『バンド・オブ・ブラザース』Band of Brothers に基づいたテレビ・ミニシリーズの製作総指揮を行った。

2002年10月13日に死去し、ミシシッピ州セントルイスベイのメモリ墓地に埋葬された。
