デイヴ・ブルーベック

デイヴ・ブルーベック（Dave Brubeck、:David Warren Brubeck、1920年12月6日 - 2012年12月5日）はカリフォルニア州コンコード出身のピアニスト。ウェストコースト・ジャズの代表的なピアニストとされている。

小惑星(5079) Brubeckはブルーベックに因んで命名された[1]。

来歴 編集

ブルーベックは、母親からクラシックの教育を受けた。また、ダリウス・ミヨーに師事していた時期もある。彼の作品では4分の5拍子など、ユニークな拍子を持ったものもある。長年の音楽的パートナーだったサックス奏者、ポール・デスモンドが作曲の"テイク・ファイヴ"（アルバムTime Out収録[2]）が代表曲であり、同曲はジャズのスタンダードとなっている[3]。

惜しくも誕生日の前日である2012年12月5日に、コネチカット州ノーウォークの病院で死去[4]。91歳没。
