デヴィッド・アーカンストーン
デヴィッド・アーカンストーン（英: David Arkenstone、1952年7月1日 - ）は、アメリカ合衆国のミュージシャン。主にインストルメンタルでの音楽を発表。ニューエイジ系、かつファンタジーをテーマに取り入れた作品を多数手がける。

来歴 編集
出身地はシカゴ。10歳の時にカリフォルニア州に移り、学生バンドをいくつか経験し、大学で音楽を学ぶ傍ら、プログレッシブ・ロックのバンドを結成。その後喜多郎の音楽からの影響を受け、ソロとなりニューエイジ系の音楽を自らの作品とする。前妻ダイアンとネオ・パシフィカと言うレーベルを立ち上げた。
ヒストリー・チャンネル、ディスカバリー・チャンネル、NBCスポーツなどテレビ番組用の音楽も作曲し、映画予告編や映画のサウンドトラックにも使用された。彼の音楽は『World of Warcraft』『アース・アンド・ビヨンド』などのコンピューターゲームにも多く使われた。
グラミー賞にも1992年、2000年、2004年と3回ノミネートされている。ピアノや電子キーボード楽器、ギター、ベースなどの他に、ブズーキ、マンドリン、ハープ、チェロ、フルート、サズ、ペニーホイッスル、メロディカ、パンパイプなど様々な楽器を弾くことができる。ドラムやパーカッションも演奏する他、ボーカルもレコーディングしている。
1995年リリースのアルバム『Quest of the Dream Warrior』収録の「The Journey Begins: Kyla's Ride」は、NHK『大相撲 幕内の全取組』ED曲として使用されている。
ドーモレコードと契約し、2010年に『Echoes of Light and Shadow』（2008年発売）を再リリースした。
