The move-ment has not reached a serious volume at present, but in-quiries now coming to us would indicate that it may soonbecome so large as to require the bureaus special attention. Foreword We are all familiar with Ellis Island on the Atlanticcoast, but many do not know of the existence of AngelIsland on the Pacific where the incoming orientals arereceived. It was a note of the early Christian that he was givento hospitality. The spirit of the Master teaches us to sharewith others. Why should not this attitude characterize ournational relations with the incomers who cross the seas tosojourn in our land? Unrestricted and unregulated immigration would notbe wise either on our eastern or western coasts. We needthe most careful consideration of the character of our futurecitizenship.
