解説The Funeral of Illinois State Trooper Christopher Lambert South Barrington Illinois 1-18-19 5658 (46099056634).jpg
There was a snowstorm. There was an accident at the junction of Willow Road and Interstate 294 in Northbrook Illinois.Trooper Lambert was off-duty and heading home. He didn't have to stop to help, but he did. Tragically, he was struck by another vehicle and killed. The driver of that vehicle didn't - or couldn't - change lanes. He also apparently didn't slow down either as the law requires you to do when approaching the scene of an emergency. Trooper Lambert leaves behind a wife and one year old daughter who will now grow up and never have the pleasure of knowing and loving her daddy.
These days much is said about bad cops. But not enough is said about the good ones. Trooper Lambert was one of the good ones. He was the type of person we all would want to have stop and try to help if we were in an accident or stranded on the side of the highway. A brave and honorable man for sure.
He didn't have to stop and try to help. But he did.
