マーモン・グループ(Marmon Group)は、アメリカ合衆国にある工業を中心とするコングロマリットであり、イリノイ州シカゴに本社を置く持株会社マーモン・ホールディングス(Marmon Holdings, Inc.)をその頂点とする。

1953年にプリツカー家によって創業され、2013年からはウォーレン・バフェット率いるバークシャー・ハサウェイが保有している。輸送機器や電子部品、その他の工業製品を製造する会社や、建設業、小売業などを傘下に置く。主要な事業はタンク車の製造で、製品はアメリカのユニオン・タンクカー・カンパニー（英語版）とカナダのプロコール（英語版）を通じて販売されている。北米最大の貨物鉄道会社であるBNSF鉄道を保有するバークシャー・ハサウェイは、2007年にマーモン・ホールディングスの買収を始め、2013年に完全に子会社化した。

歴史 編集

1953年、ジェイ・プリツカーとロバート・プリツカー（英語版）はコルゾン・コーポレーション(Colson Corporation)を買収した。同社は、キャスターや自転車、ロケット、車椅子などを製造していたが、売上額が300万ドルと経営に苦しんでいた[1][2]。1964年、自動車部品メーカーのマーモン・ヘリントンを買収したことにより、社名をマーモン・グループに変更した[3]。その後に買収した主要な企業には、1976年のセロ・コーポレーション、1981年のトランスユニオン（英語版）がある[1][3]。

2007年、プリツカー家はマーモン・グループの持ち分の60%をバークシャー・ハサウェイに売却し、以降5・6年かけて残りの40%を売却する予定とした[4]。バークシャー社は、プリツカー家以外の少数株主の持ち分を2013年に買収した[5]。
