世界結核デー

世界結核デー（せかいけっかくデー、World Tuberculosis Day）とは、世界保健機関(WHO)が結核根絶への誓いを新たにするために、1997年の世界保健総会で制定した日である。ドイツのロベルト・コッホが結核菌を発見し演説した日である1882年3月24日にちなんで、毎年3月24日を世界結核デーとした。

各年のテーマ

毎年テーマを掲げ、世界中で結核への意識を高めるイベントなどが行われている。

• 2002年 - Stop TB, fight poverty

• 2004年 - Every Breath Counts - Stop TB Now!（日本語訳：呼吸するたび唱えよう，「ストップ結核！」）

• 2006年 - Action for life ： towards a world free of tuberculosis（日本語訳：結核のない世界へ　命へのアクション！）
