北海道の札幌市を中心に活動している。非常に多作であり、Bandcampでリリースされたアルバムは50以上 (2022年4月現在）。
アートワークは自然・風景に関するものが多い。バンドロゴが一度リニューアルされている。
NPiLのジャンルは、Bandcampによるとデプレッシブブラックメタル、ダークメタル、デプレッシブポストブラックとされている。後述のRetreat Neurosisはデプレッシブブラックメタルである。
メンバー 編集
- Yu
ボーカルと全ての楽器を担当[注 1]。NPiLはYu氏のみから成る独りバンドである。
デプレッシヴ・スイサイダル・ブラックメタル・ガイドブック(ISBN 4908468265)を執筆したことでも知られている。[要出典]
2018年にNPiLと並行し、Retreat Neurosis(以下RN)[注 2]としての活動を開始した。
