The Japanese House（ザ・ジャパニーズ・ハウス）はイギリス、バッキンガムシャー出身のシンガソングライターであるアンバー・ベインによる音楽プロジェクトである。

生い立ち 編集
イギリス・バッキンガムシャーで生まれたアンバー・ベインは音楽家でもあった父から音楽を教わって育った。
キャリア 編集
2012年にイギリスのレーベルDirty Hitと契約。その際、ステージネームを「The Japanese House」とする事とした。これは、Bainが幼少期に訪れたイギリス・コーンウォールにある、かつて女優のケイト・ウィンスレットが所有していたコテージに由来している[1]。
2015年3月2日にデビューシングルである「Still」がBBC Radio1にて放送され、その年にはThe 1975のオープニングアクトとしてツアーに参加した[2]。
その後、複数のシングルとEPを発表。
2019年3月1日にはファーストアルバムとなる「Good at Falling」をリリース。批評家から好意的な評価を得た[3]。
2019年9月27日にはシングル「Something Has to Change」を11月22日にはシングル「Chewing Cotton Wool」をリリースした。
私生活 編集
ベインは現在イーストロンドンに居住しており、ジャーマンシェパードの「カルバン」を飼っている[4]。かつて、アルコール乱用と、摂食障害を患っていたと語っている[5]。ベインは、シンガーソングライターのマリカ・ハックマン(Marika Hackman)と 2018年までの4年間交際していた[6]。ハックマンとは後に「Lilo」のミュージックビデオで共演している[7]。
