U9 (潜水艦・初代)

U9はドイツのUボート。U9型。

艦歴編集

1908年7月15日発注。1910年2月22日進水。同年4月18日に就役。

1914年7月16日、「U9」乗員は潜航中に魚雷発射管の再装填に成功した。潜水艦がそれに成功したのは史上初めてのことであった。

1914年8月1日、オットー・ヴェディゲン大尉が艦長に就任した。9月22日、北海南部で哨戒中イギリスの旧式装甲巡洋艦「アブーキア」、「ホーグ」、「クレッシー」を発見。搭載魚雷6本すべてを使用して1時間以内で3隻とも沈めた。10月15日、「U9」はイギリス防護巡洋艦「ホーク」を撃沈した。

1915年1月12日に艦長がJohannes Spiessにかわり、1916年4月19日まで指揮をとった。その間U9は小型漁船10隻とイギリス汽船3隻、合計8635トンを沈めた。

1916年4月に「U9」は前線から退き、訓練用となった。

1919年解体。
