函数
f
(
x
)
{\displaystyle f(x)}
のカーレマン行列 は次のように定義される。
M
[
f
]
j
k
=
1
k
!
[
d
k
d
x
k
(
f
(
x
)
)
j
]
x
=
0
,
{\displaystyle M[f]_{jk}={\frac {1}{k!}}\left[{\frac {d^{k}}{dx^{k}}}(f(x))^{j}\right]_{x=0},}
したがって、次の(テイラー級数 の)方程式が満たされる。
(
f
(
x
)
)
j
=
∑
k
=
0
∞
M
[
f
]
j
k
x
k
.
{\displaystyle (f(x))^{j}=\sum _{k=0}^{\infty }M[f]_{jk}x^{k}.}
例えば、
f
(
x
)
{\displaystyle f(x)}
を計算すると
f
(
x
)
=
∑
k
=
0
∞
M
[
f
]
1
,
k
x
k
{\displaystyle f(x)=\sum _{k=0}^{\infty }M[f]_{1,k}x^{k}}
のように、
M
[
f
]
{\displaystyle M[f]}
の第 1 行と列ベクトル
[
1
,
x
,
x
2
,
x
3
,
…
]
⊤
{\displaystyle [1,x,x^{2},x^{3},\ldots ]^{\top }}
(⊤ は転置 )のドット積で与えられる。
M
[
f
]
{\displaystyle M[f]}
の次の行の成分は、以下のような
f
(
x
)
{\displaystyle f(x)}
の 2 次のベキを与える。
f
(
x
)
2
=
∑
k
=
0
∞
M
[
f
]
2
,
k
x
k
.
{\displaystyle f(x)^{2}=\sum _{k=0}^{\infty }M[f]_{2,k}x^{k}.}
そして、
f
(
x
)
{\displaystyle f(x)}
のゼロ次のベキを
M
[
f
]
{\displaystyle M[f]}
に含めるように、行 0 は第一成分を除いてすべてゼロであるようにする。すなわち
f
(
x
)
0
=
1
=
∑
k
=
0
∞
M
[
f
]
0
,
k
x
k
=
1
+
∑
k
=
1
∞
0
⋅
x
k
{\displaystyle f(x)^{0}=1=\sum _{k=0}^{\infty }M[f]_{0,k}x^{k}=1+\sum _{k=1}^{\infty }0\cdot x^{k}}
が成り立つ。
したがって、
M
[
f
]
{\displaystyle M[f]}
と列ベクトル
[
1
,
x
,
x
2
,
…
]
⊤
{\displaystyle [1,x,x^{2},\ldots ]^{\top }}
のドット積は、列ベクトル
[
1
,
f
(
x
)
,
f
(
x
)
2
,
…
]
⊤
{\displaystyle [1,f(x),f(x)^{2},\ldots ]^{\top }}
を導く。すなわち、
M
[
f
]
⋅
[
1
,
x
,
x
2
,
x
3
,
…
]
⊤
=
[

f

(
f
(
x

)
2

(
f
(
x
)
)
3
,
…
]
⊤
.
{\displaystyle M[f]\cdot [1,x,x^{2},x^{3},\ldots ]^{\top }=[1,f(x),(f(x))^{2},(f(x))^{3},\ldots ]^{\top }.}
ベル行列
編集
函数
f
(
x
)
{\displaystyle f(x)}
のベル行列 (Bell matrix)は次のように定義される。
B
[
f
]
j
k

1
j

[
d

d

j

f

]
x
=
0
.
{\displaystyle B[f]_{jk}={\frac {1}{j!}}\left[{\frac {d^{j}}{dx^{j}}}(f(x))^{k}\right]_{x=0}.}
したがって次の方程式が満たされる。
(
f
(
x

k

∑
j

∞
B
[
f
]
j
k
x
j
.
{\displaystyle (f(x))^{k}=\sum _{j=0}^{\infty }B[f]_{jk}x^{j}.}
これは上述のカーレマン行列の転置 である。
ジャボチンスキー行列
編集
エリ・ジャボチンスキー(Eri Jabotinsky)は 1947 年、多項式の畳み込みを表現する目的で行列の概念を開発した。このため何人かの研究者はベル行列のことをジャボチンスキー行列 と呼んでおり、今後この名がより正式なものになる可能性もある。
