アメリカ合衆国の優れたニュースやドキュメンタリー番組に贈られる賞
ニュース&ドキュメンタリー・エミー賞（News & Documentary Emmy Award）は、アメリカ合衆国の優れたニュースやドキュメンタリー番組に贈られる賞[1]。エミー賞の一つで、全米テレビ芸術科学アカデミー（NATAS）が主催する。授賞式は通常、秋に開催され約40のカテゴリーに分けて授与される。地元のニュース番組を対象とした賞は2つだけで、ローカルのニュースとドキュメンタリー番組は、地域エミー賞で授与される。

ルール 編集
ニュース＆ドキュメンタリー・エミー賞の対象は、1月1日から12月31日までの期間中に全米の少なくとも50％に放送されなければならない。海外で制作された番組は、アメリカのパートナーとの共同制作であり、最初からアメリカのテレビで放送されることが約束されていたものでない限り、通常は不適格となる。
ローカルの報道番組は上記のルールにより対象とならず、代わりに地域エミー賞で授与される。ただし、地域エミー賞をすでに受賞している報道のみが対象となる「Outstanding Regional News Story」のカテゴリで、「Spot News」「Investigative Reporting」の2つのローカル番組を対象とした賞が用意されている[2]。
