Français : Représentation de la Voie Lactée selon William Herschel. A noter qu'il s'était trompé puisqu'il avait placé le soleil au centre de notre galaxie.
English: The shape of our Galaxy as deduced from star counts by William Herschel in 1785; the solar system was assumed near center.
