『渚にて…』 (Down on the Road by the Beach) は、イギリスの写真家で音楽家のスティーヴ・ハイエット (Steve Hiett) が1983年に発表したアルバムである。

解説 編集

スティーヴ・ハイエットは学生時代ロイヤル・カレッジ・オブ・アートで美術を学び、1960年代からミュージシャンとして、1970年代からはファッション・カメラマンとして活動を始めた[1]。本作は1983年に制作されたハイエットの唯一のアルバムで、アメリカのセッション・ギタリストであるエリオット・ランドールやムーンライダーズのメンバー、加藤和彦などの参加を得て東京とパリおよびニューヨークで録音された。楽曲はハイエットのオリジナルを中心にチャック・ベリーやブッカー・T・ジョーンズ、そしてムーンライダーズのメンバーの作品などで構成され、演奏はハイエットが数曲でヴォーカルをとっているほかは、ギターを主としたインストゥルメンタル中心の内容となっており、アルバム・カバーの裏面には”This is a Guitar Album”と記載されている。

アートワーク 編集

アルバム・カバーおよび封入されたポストカードの写真はハイエットが撮影したもので、本アルバムと同時にCBSソニー出版から刊行された同タイトルの写真集にも掲載されている。
