「アメリカ合衆国大統領就任式」の版間の差分

大統領の宣誓に先立って行われる副大統領の宣誓については憲法に直接の規定はないが、[[s:アメリカ合衆国憲法#第6条|憲法第6条3項]]で大統領以外の行政官に対して憲法擁護宣誓が義務付けられており、具体的な宣誓文は法律で定められている<ref>[[合衆国法典]]第5編第3331条 [http://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/5/3331 5 U.S. Code § 3331 - Oath of office | LII / Legal Information Institute]</ref>ため、これに従って行われる。

文面は次の通り。{{cquote|私、［名前］は、合衆国憲法を国外と国内のすべての敵から擁護・防衛し、真の信義と忠誠を（憲法に対して）抱き、この義務を一切の心理留保や逃避の意図なく自由（な意志の下）に引き受け、私が就こうとする職責を良好にかつ信義をもって履行することを、厳粛に誓う（または確約する）。神よ照覧あれ。<br> “I, AB, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.”}}

なお就任式の夜には祝賀[[晩餐会]]と[[舞踏会]]が開かれ大統領夫妻が踊りを披露するのが慣例。
