胴体の背側は筋に細分され、両側に沿って走る11対の鰭と[[葉足動物]]の様な脚（葉足）を持つ。尾端には特殊化した附属体を持たない。[[ケリグマケラ]]と[[アノマロカリス類]]のように、消化道管には体節に応じた数対の消化腺が並んでいる<ref name=Vannier/>。
