歴史 編集

2016年12月1日に、アンナプルナ・ピクチャーズがインタラクティブゲーム業界へ進出する試みとして設立。設立当初のスタッフは、アンナプルナ・ピクチャーズの幹部・プロデューサーのニール・ヘムラジャニ（Neale Hemrajani）、テクノロジー担当責任者のジェームズ・メイシー（James Masi）、そしてソニー・インタラクティブエンタテインメントやワーナー・ブラザース・インタラクティブ・エンターテインメント（英語版）に在籍していたネイサン・ゲイリー（Nathan Gary）、デボラ・マーズ（Deborah Mars）、ヘクター・サンチェス（Hector Sanchez）、ジェフ・レガスピ（Jeff Legaspi）といったビデオゲーム界でのベテランで構成されていた[1]。そういった面々のほか、ゲームデザイナーの陳星漢が顧問として携わっていた[2]。

設立当日、インディーズ系のゲーム開発者とリリース契約を交わしたゲームを発表した。これには、『フィンチ家の奇妙な屋敷でおきたこと』や『Gorogoa』、高橋慶太の無題のプロジェクト（後に『Wattam』としてリリース）などが含まれていた[3]。2017年には、『The Artful Escape』『Ashen』『Telling Lies』など、より多くのインディーズゲームを販売していくと発表した[4][5][6]。

2020年5月7日、カナダのインディーズゲーム会社Capybara Gamesの元社長であるネイサン・ヴェラ (Nathan Vella) が経営陣に加わったことが報じられた[7]。また、同年10月29日にはロサンゼルスに開発スタジオを設立した[8]。
