北部呉語ローマ字

I don't agree on your suggestion because it's natural to use 吳方言 in stead of 吳語 in Japanese. (I know that this language is usually called 吳語 in Mandarin and that 吳語 and Mandarin are quite different language. Still, since it's obvious that 吳語 is a derivation of Chinese language family, so I don't think this renaming is necessary as far as 吳語->吳方言 redirection is enabled and the name, 吳語, is on this article.) --Autem 2008年5月25日 (日) 21:08 (UTC)

Thanks for your discussion, and I still have one suggestion. 吳方言 means Wu dialect, so we need to say it is a dialect, but of what. Now everybody say 中國語 = mandarin, so this would be confusing. 呉語 is better than 呉越語. The former is more commonly used in Japanese, and the latter may be confusing with 粤語 (Yue) or 越語 (越南語, Vietnamese). - TAKASUGI Shinji (会話) 2008年7月7日 (月) 22:53 (UTC)
