Das Deutsche Jungvolk' (DJ), kurz auch als Jungvolk bezeichnet, war in der Zeit des Nationalsozialismus eine Jugendorganisation der Hitlerjugend (HJ) für Jungen zwischen 10 und 14 Jahren. Der Bund Deutscher Mädel (BDM) war der weibliche Zweig der Hitlerjugend. Darin waren im Sinne der totalitären Ziele des NS-Regimes die Mädchen im Alter von 14 bis 18 Jahren organisiert.



English: "DEUTSCHE UNIFORMEN" ('German Uniforms'), a booklet with colour plates and charts of military and paramilitary uniforms and insignia of Nazi Germany, published by Moritz Ruhl Verlag / Kunstverlag / Kunstanstalt in Leipzig, Germany in 1937:
  • Uniforms and rank insignia of the Deutsches Jungvolk (DJ) and the en:League of German Girls (Bund Deutscher Mädel, BDM)
    • The uniform of the DJ ('German Youngsters') was very similar to the Hitler Youth equivalent. The summer uniform consisted of a black shorts and tan shirt with pockets, worn with a rolled black neckerchief secured with a woggle, usually tucked under the collar. Headgear originally consisted of a beret, but when this was discarded by the HJ in 1934, the DJ adopted a side cap with coloured piping which denoted their unit. The emblem of the DJ was a white Sieg rune on a black background, which symbolised "victory". This was worn on the uniform in the form of a cloth badge, sewn onto the upper-left sleeve of the shirt.
    • The BDM uniform was a full blue skirt, middy blouse and heavy marching shoes. In 1939, a new uniform was introduced for regional and national leaders within the League of German Girls, and along with the new uniforms came new rank insignia for leaders. These new rank insignia took the form of a silver, and for higher ranks, gold bullion embroidered open-winged eagle on a black (white, on the summer tunic) shield with various types of borders to indicate grade. They were worn on the left chest of the tunic.
  • Traditions-Arm-Dreiecken were regional sleeve badges.
  • The Hitler Youth Badge (Das Hitler-Jugend-Abzeichen) was a political decoration awarded for various degrees of service to the Hitler Youth.
