25日のビルボードウィークチャートで、100位以内に11曲のチャートインを果たした。デビュー曲"The Time Of My Life"の1位から3位までを独占。17曲のエントリーの週間ダウンロード総数は、944,000にのぼった。その後も、[[ウォルマート]]株主会でのライブ、NBAファイナルでの国歌斉唱など、アメリカン・アイドルに課せられたパフォーマンスをこなしながら、各テレビ局のインタビュー・取材でそのポテンシャルの高さをアピールしている。

6月現在、7月1日からの『アメリカンアイドル・ツアー』のリハーサルの合間を縫って、デビューアルバムの制作中。2008年秋の11月にデビューアルバム [[:w:David Cook (album)]] が発売をめざしているされた。
