== 疾患との関連性 ==

EF-Tu は、リボソームとともに、[[抗生物質]]による翻訳阻害の最も重要な標的の1つである<ref name=":3" />。EF-Tu を標的とする抗生物質は、その作用機序によって2つのグループに分類される。最初のグループは[[プルボマイシン]] (pulvomycin) と GE2270A を含むグループであり、EF-Tu•GTP•aa-tRNA 三者複合体の形成を阻害する<ref>{{cite journal|date=July 1991|title=Antibiotic GE2270 a: a novel inhibitor of bacterial protein synthesis.
