エロディ・ローテン (Elodie Lauten、1950年 - 2014年) はフランス生まれでアメリカ合衆国在住であった現代音楽の作曲家[1][2]

略歴 編集

ジャズ・ピアニストのErrol Parkerを父に持つ音楽家一家に生まれた。

他のミニマル・ミュージックの作曲家と同じように、彼女も正規にニューヨーク大学でディヌ・ゲッツォアクマル・パルヴェツのような大家について正規に師事している。Genevieve Schecrounが実名だが、ElodieはステージネームでLautenは離婚した最初の夫の名字である。1970年代にパンク・ロックのグループで活動後、1980年代にミニマルに転向。以後20年にわたってアカデミックな業界の支持を得て活動した。主に舞踊や歌劇など音楽外要素を用いた作品に強かったが、室内楽の作曲も並行して続けていた。受賞も多かった。[3]

作品はLovely Music, Point/Polygram, 4-Tay, O.O. Discs, and New Toneから発売されていた。マンハッタンで癌のため63歳で死去。
