ジェリー・ハフ

ジェリー・ハフ（Jerry Fincher Hough, 1935年 - 2020年 ）は、アメリカ合衆国の政治学者、デューク大学政治学部教授。専門は、アメリカ政治、ロシア政治。

略歴・人物

1955年ハーバード大学政治学部卒業、1957年同大学院修士課程修了（ソ連研究）、1961年同大学院博士課程修了（Ph.D.、政治学）。イリノイ大学アーバナ・シャンペーン校政治学部助教授（1961-68年）、トロント大学政治学部准教授（1968-70年）、同教授（1970-73年）を経て、1973年から現職。1982年からジェームス・B・デューク記念講座教授を務めている。この間ブルッキングス研究所シニア・フェローも務めた。

イデオロギー的分析、クレムリノロジー、全体主義論などのアプローチが強かったソ連・ロシア研究において、現代政治学の分析手法を導入した研究を行ない、新しい方向性を切り開いたことで知られる。近年はロシア研究から離れ、アメリカ政治の発展・形成過程に関心を移している。
