現在、アリゾナ州立大学英語学科教授、第二言語ライティング学科長[1][2][3]。
第二言語ライティング、作文研究、作文の認知・言語理論などの分野で複数の論文・著書を発表している。
経歴 編集
1993年、ウィスコンシン大学スティーブンスポイント校でコミュニケーション学の学士号を取得。1995年、マイアミ大学にて英語学の修士号（作文・修辞学コンセントレーション）取得。2000年、パデュー大学で英語学の博士号を取得[4]。
研究内容 編集
マツダの主な関心は、第二言語ライティングである[5]。
1997年には、『Journal of Second Language Writing』において、文脈における対照レトリックに関する論文を発表し、大きな影響力をもった[6]。

- 2006: Richard Ohmann Award for the Outstanding Refereed Article published in College English (National Council of Teachers of English)
