コナガ科
コナガ科（ーか、学名: Plutellidae）とはガの科のひとつである。科名はヨーロッパ原産のコナガ（学名: Plutella xylostella, 英語: diamondback moth）に由来する。かつてはコナガ亜科、ニセスガ亜科およびサンザシガ亜科の3亜科に分けられていた[1]。ニセスガ亜科は独立したニセスガ科に分類し直され、サンザシガ亜科はスガ科に属するか、あるいは独立した科が立てられている[2][3]。

特徴 編集
翅長7 - 55 mm (0.3 - 2.2 in) ほどの小型・中型のガである。頭部はふつう滑らかな鱗粉に覆われ、触角は中央部が太くなることが多い。翅は細長く、後翅にはしばしば長い縁がみられる。前翅は縁のため鎌形に見えることが多い。体色は全体的にくすんでおり、多様な帯や模様が見られる。成虫は基本的に夜行性あるいは薄明性である。幼虫は葉の表面を食害する。多くの植物を食草とするが、アブラナ科を特に好む。コナガなど一部の種は経済害虫として悪名高い[1]。
