概要

1948年にサンタアニタメーチュリティ（Santa Anita Maturity）の名称で創設された競走で、1963年にサンタアニタパークの創設者であるチャールズ・ヘンリー・ストラブ（Charles H. Strub）の名を取ってチャールズ・H・ストラブステークスに改名された。1993年にストラブステークスに改名された。

グレード制導入当時はG1競走に設定され、1998年以降はG2競走として施行されている。

• 1948年 - サンタアニタメーチュリティ（Santa Anita Maturity）として創設。
• 1955年 - 1位入線のミズクレメンタインが2着に降着、繰り上がりでディターマインが優勝する。
• 1963年 - 競走名がチャールズ・H・ストラブステークス（Charles H. Strub Stakes）に改名される。
• 1969年 - 1位入線のノーダブルが2着に降着、繰り上がりでディグナイテスが優勝する。
• 1973年 - グレード制導入に伴い、G1競走に設定される。
• 1993年 - 競走名がストラブステークス（Strub Stakes）に改名される。
• 1998年 - G2に降格。
• 2014年 - この年を最後に休止。
