ハーバート・ギンタス（英: Herbert Gintis、1940年2月11日 - 2023年1月5日）は、アメリカ合衆国の経済学者。中央ヨーロッパ大学教授兼サンタフェ研究所外部教授[3]。経済学以外にも自然科学[† 1]、生物学[† 2]、進化理論[† 3]、教育学[† 4]、社会学[† 5]、政治学[† 6]、哲学[† 7]、神経・神経科学[† 8]を始めとする多数の分野の国際学術誌に研究論文が掲載されており、特にラディカル経済学、遺伝と文化の共進化の理論、生物経済学などの創設に貢献した[5]。

来歴 編集
ハーバート・ギンタスは、1961年に米国ペンシルベニア大学で学士号を、ハーバード大学で修士号を受けた数学専攻の学生であったが、その後経済学専攻に転じ、1969年にハーバード大学で経済学の博士号を取得した[3]。学位取得後は数年間ハーバード大学経済学部で助教授および准教授を勤めた後に1975年にマサチューセッツ大学に移籍した[3]。さらに2002年にはハンガリーの中央ヨーロッパ大学に移籍し、2011年には米国サンタフェ研究所外部教授を兼任している[3]。2022年クラリベイト・アナリティクス引用栄誉賞受賞した1年後の2023年1月5日、死去[6]。82歳没。
