カーティン大学
カーティン大学（カーティンだいがく、英語: Curtin University ）は、オーストラリアの西オーストラリア州パース市に位置する州最大規模の総合大学で、オーストラリアで初の工科大学として創立された。2010年にカーティン工科大学(Curtin University of Technology)から名称が変更された。1966年大学創設当時は西オーストラリア工科大学（Western Australian Institute of Technology）と呼ばれており、大学拡充を図るため「University」という語を付け加え、第14代オーストラリア首相であるジョン・カーティンの名を引用し、現在はカーティン大学となっている。カーティン大学はAustralian Technology Network (ATN)に属し、イギリスのThe Times紙が発行した「THE世界大学ランキング」2004[1]では、州最高位となる76位に位置づけられた。

西オーストラリア最大の都市パースは、一年中快適な地中海性気候で「世界で最も住みやすい都市」の上位に選ばれており、観光地としても国際色豊かな都市として知られる。カーティン大学は、パースのベントレーに116ヘクタールの広大なメインキャンパスがあり、約50,000人以上の学生が学んでいる。海外留学生の割合は約30%と高く、特にアジア地域で抜群の知名度を誇る。（シンガポールとマレーシアに分校キャンパス有り）

カーティン大学は、1987年創立以来、順調に発展を遂げ、現在では学生総数約40,000人を擁する西オーストラリア州最大規模の大学となっている。また、100カ国以上の国々から約17,000人もの留学生を受け入れており、国際性に富んだ大学としても知られている。2006年2月にはマレーシアのアブドラ・バダウィ首相が、そして2006年4月に中国の温家宝国務院総理が訪問するなど、アジア諸国の要人との係わり合いも深い。
カーティン大学には、ビジネス、工学、自然科学、人文科学、健康科学、農学など様々な分野に亘って、学士、修士、博士の課程で850ものコースが用意されている。とりわけ、ビジネス分野を担うカーティン・ビジネス・スクール（CBS）は、西オーストラリア州で最大であるだけでなく、オーストラリア全土でも最大級の規模を誇っており、大学院レベルのビジネス教育と研究において国内外で高い評価を得ている[誰?]。
