STAR 夢の代償

『STAR 夢の代償』（原題: Star、スター）は、2016年から2019年に放送されたアメリカ合衆国のテレビドラマシリーズ。メジャーデビューを夢見る若き少女が音楽業界のスターダムを駆け上る姿を描く。原作・制作はリー・ダニエルズ、出演はジュード・デモレスト、ブリタニー・オグラディ、ライアン・デスティニーなど[1]。アメリカでは2016年12月14日にFOXで放送が開始され、2019年5月8日に最終第3シーズンで打ち切りとなった[2]。打ち切りの発表後、ファンによる続編を求めるキャンペーンが行なわれ、2時間のテレビ映画の製作が決定している[3]。

あらすじ 編集

メジャーデビューを夢見る若き少女スターは、妹のシモーネ、ライバルのアレクサンドラと共にユニット活動を始める。彼女たちは厳しい音楽業界を勝ち抜き成長していく[5]。

企画 編集

2015年8月、FOXは本作のパイロットを『Empire 成功の代償』のクリエイターであるリー・ダニエルズに発注したと発表した[54]。2016年4月27日、全12話の第1シーズンが発注された[1]。

打ち切りと映画化 編集

第3シーズン放送終了2日後の2019年5月10日に本作の打ち切りが発表された。ファンはソーシャルメディアで#SAVESTARキャンペーンを開始。change.orgなどのウェブサイトで、番組を打ち切りから救うための嘆願書が作成され、10万人以上の署名を集めた。5月29日には、番組制作者のリー・ダニエルズがInstagramにキャンペーンを後押しする投稿を行なった[55]。他のケーブルネットワークでの続編の可能性が報じられたが、5月31日にリー・ダニエルズは、続編の製作元を見つけることができなかったとInstagramに投稿した[56]。

2019年7月、リー・ダニエルズは自身のInstagramに、本作が2時間のテレビ映画としてフィナーレを迎えると投稿した[57]。

第1シーズンは、映画批評集積サイトのRotten Tomatoesに37件のレビューがあり、批評家支持率は35%、平均点は10点満点で4.19点となっている[58]。また、Metacriticには30件のレビューがあり、加重平均値は42/100となっている[59]。
