2012年のロードレース世界選手権は、FIMロードレース世界選手権の第64回大会となる。

シーズンの概要 編集

本シーズンは125ccクラスに代わるMoto3クラスの開催初年度となった。最高峰のMotoGPクラスはケーシー・ストーナーとホンダがディフェンディングチャンピオンとしてシーズンが始まった[1]。 Moto2クラスのチャンピオン、ステファン・ブラドルはLCRホンダからMotoGPにステップアップ[2]、同じく125ccクラスチャンピオンのニコラス・テロルはチーム・アスパーからMoto2にステップアップした[3]。

クラスの変更 編集

MotoGPクラスのエンジンは、排気量は最大1,000 cc (61 cu in)に引き上げられ、シリンダーの最大径は81 mm (3.2 in)で、気筒数は4気筒以下と規定された[4]。この変更により5気筒以上のエンジンを搭載したマシンによる参戦は禁止された。

また、2ストローク125ccに代わって4ストローク250cc単気筒エンジンを搭載するMoto3クラスが開催されることとなった[5]。

クレーミング・ルール・チーム 編集

2012年シーズンは低予算の独立チームによる参加を考慮したクレーミング・ルール・チーム (Claiming Rule Teams, CRT) が導入される。CRTはライダー1人当たり12台のエンジン、より多くの燃料（24リッター）と制限が緩和されるが、ファクトリー・チームがエンジンの買い取りまたは「クレーミング」を付けた場合、15,000ドルもしくは20,000ドルでトランスミッション込みの状態で販売しなければならない[6]。初年度は16の新チームによるCRT規定での参加申し込みがあった[7]。

新たなエントリー 編集

2011年6月にFIMはMoto2クラスに参戦する新たな6チームを発表した。- インターウェッテン・パドック, フォワード・レーシング, マークVDS, キーファー・レーシング, スピードマスター, BQR-ブルセンス（後にアヴィンティア・レーシングに変更）[8] - エントリーは承認された[9]。その後2チームが追加された。 - ポール・バード・モータースポーツ[10], イオダ・レーシング[11] - しかしながら、インターウェッテン・パドック、マークVDS、キーファー・レーシングは2012年1月にFIMが発表した改訂リリースからは外れていた[12]。

グランプリ 編集

2011年9月14日、全18戦からなる開催カレンダーがFIMより発表された[13]。3ヶ月後に発表された修正日程では、カタールGPが一週間前倒しとなった[14]。

  • 背景が水色のライダーはルーキー・オブ・ザ・イヤーへの挑戦資格を持つ。フルシーズン出場を前提にチームと契約を結んだライダーのうち、同一クラスにおいて過去に1シーズンあたり8戦を超えて出場した経験がない者が対象となる。
  • 背景が黄緑色のマシンはCRTルールとして参戦する。
  • 背景が水色のラウンドではウェットレースが宣言された。

BMW・M・アワード 編集

  • MotoGPクラスにフル参戦する21名のライダーのみエントリーされる、予選最速ライダーを決めるランキング。予選順位を決勝と同じポイント計算でポイントに加算していき全18戦を争う。総合1位の選手にはBMWよりＭ３クーペ・コンペティションエディションが与えられる。
  • シーズン途中で負傷代役ライダーでポイントを獲得できるグリッドに並んだライダーもいるが、その選手に対してのポイント加算はなく、代わってフルエントリーしているライダーの順位が繰り上がりとなる。例としてエリソンはサンマリノGPでは16番グリッドと本来ならば圏外であるが、同GPで9番グリッドを獲得したレイ（ストーナーの代役参戦）へのポイントはなく、繰り上げで15番手扱いとなっているために、1ポイントが加算されている。
